Ismail Tara was born on 16 November 1949 in Lahore, Pakistan. He started his acting career in the early 1960s. He rose to fame in the 1980s by acting in the popular PTV drama Fifty Fifty (50 50). It is worth noting that he has won five Nigar Awards during his career as a comedian, including nominations for the Best Comedian Award for the Pakistani films Haathi Mere Saathi, Aakhri Mujra, Munda Bigra Jaye, Chief Sahib, and Deewarein.
